Pros

The best thing is work-life balance. It is the best place for those who want to live their career in a single setup/framework, don't want to learn new things and are happy with doing the same thing every day. It's also for those who want to do lots of CSR and team-building exercises. Jobs are very safe, even in recession times. Working for a respectable banking brand.

Cons

Middle management is not fair in dealing with the workforce. It lacks an innovative management approach and is not interested in improving the current situation.

If any suggestion is given, usually no action is taken. Opportunities are not equal for every employee. If you don't ask for things, you will never get them, whether it's a promotion or an onsite opportunity.

HSBC GLT does not match the reputation of the banking brand of HSBC.

Advice to Management

Junior-level and middle-level management needs improvement in aptitude, attitude, and dealing with performance-related issues.

Management must try to improve the situation by putting in genuine efforts.

Make the opportunities equal. With the current scenario, a place in the list of 'best place to work' employers seems a distant dream.
