No option to give 0 or negative stars, otherwise would have given negative stars. If you are in the IT department of HSBC Australia, there are no pros whatsoever. Please do not join this department in HSBC Australia unless you don't have any other option.
IT management of HSBC Australia treat software engineers or developers as slaves.
Too much micromanagement.
When recruiting, they will say "work from home and flexibility stuff," but after you join, they will send emails stating everyone needs to be in the office by 9 AM and can leave only after 5 PM. Then they will say you can't work from home.
Full of helicopter managers who will hover over your head all the time to see when you are taking a break, what you are doing, etc., but not the actual deliverables.
Technology used will be that used in the ages of Mughal emperors, but management will expect devs to deliver stuff that beats competition.
Too many managers who don't have any work other than monitoring people, i.e., checking who is going to the toilet, who is taking a coffee break, etc.
Opinions of people who don't even understand the basics of software development are valued and heard.
Partiality and nepotism to the core.
No advice please, keep doing what you are doing. You are anyways winning on the wrong side. I am confident that HSBC Australia will occupy the last position (now it's the second last) in some time. Keep winning on the wrong side!
Simple interview process, inclusive of both technical and behavioral questions. Technical questions were simple, and some common questions in Python and SQL were asked. Some deep questions about your resume and projects were asked to assess technical
I am currently in the initial stage of the interview process for a position that I am very excited about. I am preparing thoroughly and hope for a positive outcome.
Quick interview that wanted to get my understanding of previous experience as well as some insight on projects I completed at university. Also asked why I was interested in the role and how I would be a good fit for the team.
