Pros

I worked for HSBC for 2 years.

  1. You will get enough time to learn things.
  2. If you are in the right project, you can enjoy learning.
  3. Yearly bonus and fashion parade you can't miss.
  4. No pressure, no deadlines.
Cons
  1. Due to bank compliance issues, HSBC is paying huge penalties to the US government, hence facing a crisis.

  2. There is a Pune vs. Hyderabad culture.

  3. You should be loyal to your local management. If you are loyal to a UK-based manager, your hikes and bonus will be affected. But the irony is you will be working more with UK counterparts and reporting to a local manager.

Advice to Management

There are few managers who are actually setting an example in management skills at HSBC. There are also a few who are discouraging hardworking people by giving negative feedback. I would request top management to keep an eye on such managers.
