Pros

This company is good for people who are looking for balance between work and life. You will find most people are happy for this reason only. It's a good company for those who want to stay in their comfort zone and do the same work all year long.

Cons
  • Lot of politics; employee evaluations are based on how long you were in HSBC.

  • HR is not at all reachable. I had a poor experience even before joining HSBC. My joining was delayed by a month just because they needed one address, and no one even bothered to contact me. After leaving HSBC, I had the same experience. After release/leaving HSBC, I had to chase them over email for my experience letter and F&F. I got a response from HR only when I contacted my ex-manager, and he chased HR.

  • While interviews were conducted, the job profile explained was way different than what it actually was.

  • Seniors come to your help only when things get escalated. Before escalation, when you approach them, no one will help. They simply wait for things to get escalated so that they can show their existence.

Advice to Management

Please have a 360-degree evaluation process in place so that employees can rate their managers. This will really help us grow and make HSBC a great place to work.
