Entry Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The entry-level software engineering interview consisted of three rounds:

  • Coding assessment
  • Behavioral
  • Final round with engineers (approximately 15 minutes behavioral and 45 minutes technical, ranging from easy to medium difficulty).

A lot of reviews go into detail on each round, so I highly recommend researching them before your interviews.

One thing I want to add is that this will likely be one of the best interview experiences you've had. They provide resources to help you prepare for the rounds, so be sure to ask about them. You have resources available here as well, so make sure to use them. The interviewers are probably the nicest I have seen, so be sure to be nice and respectful to them too. They want their candidates to be the best they can and as prepared as possible, so they do what they can to help.

The best part about this is that they give feedback. Yes, I didn't get the offer, but I was given the extremely rare opportunity to hear some feedback. Please don't be humble; schedule a time with your recruiter to hear some feedback. This is something very, very few companies do, but HubSpot has set aside time for this. Take advantage of it.

Overall, a wonderful interview experience.
