The first step was the online assessment, followed by a 30-minute behavioral interview with HR. It was a basic "get to know you" call with questions like "Why HubSpot?" and "Tell me about a time when..." questions. Go through the company's values and try to answer using the STAR format.

The next round was an on-site interview consisting of two parts:

• System design (Netflix, obviously)
• A coding round focused on HTTP. This round was similar to the API online assessments previously used by HubSpot but easier.

The bar is really high; if you make even one mistake in system design, you're out.
