Pros: - Good and plentiful engineer tooling. Makes very high engineering productivity possible. - Decent benefits.

Cons: Depending on what part of the company you land in, the codebase may be quite legacy, unstable, and loaded with messy inheritance. Company culture expects you to be constantly eager to go the extra mile for every little thing. That, plus the "always-on" expectations from being remote/flexible, can have you consistently working long hours and having to be available on weekends, in the evenings, and in the middle of the night, etc. I got stuck working on something I really didn't enjoy, but I didn't feel comfortable expressing that I hated that work due to the aforementioned points about company culture. That made it miserable to show up to work and be productive. Eventually, I was terminated without notice. There was no PIP and no conversations with my skip-level manager leading up to it, even. It was never communicated to me clearly that my employment was at stake, and I was let go with minimal severance.

Pros: Hands down the most transparent company I've heard of. Board decks, financials, the role of gender in the company. All of it is on the very active and thoughtful wiki. Wears its culture on its sleeve. If you read these reviews and think "yeah, I'm up for the challenge" then it's great. Centralized authority and trust. Management is careful to not be top down. Exciting, if sometimes disorganized. Feels like a 40-person company. Pre-IPO run-up is exhilarating.

Cons: You break it, you buy it. Authority to do your own thing means you own success and failure. Culture can be a bit fratty. Reliance on some superstars can feel like favoritism.

Pros: Great company culture and work environment.

Cons: didn't extend offers for most interns, and we didn't even find out until the internship had ended.
