The process took me about a month. I applied online and was sent an online coding challenge where I had to make an API call to get data, process the data, and return a result. About a week later, I got a behavioral phone interview. I advanced past it, but had a follow-up interview a few weeks later to take advantage of on-campus interviews. The on-campus interview had a technical and system design component.

Pros: I was completely integrated into a team at HubSpot. I was able to work out of the same job board that the other developers were working on and directly impact the projects and goals the team had.
Cons: I was the only intern on my team, and the issues that I was working on were independent projects.
On top of this, the internship was remote, so it consisted of me working independently without much communication with others for the majority of the internship.

Amazing benefits and compensation, but meaningful work is lacking

Pros: Pays well, with a countless number of employee benefits. It's probably the best company to be at for a flexible work-life balance. Good if you have children and a spouse to provide for, and derive meaning from them.
Cons: Software and data infrastructure feels very startup-ey and hard to see it changing.
It's hard to derive meaning from work done, as it is not very creative and I feel very disconnected to who actually gets to use it.
