Pros: I was completely integrated into a team at HubSpot. I was able to work out of the same job board that the other developers were working on and directly impact the projects and goals the team had.

Cons: I was the only intern on my team, and the issues that I was working on were independent projects. On top of this, the internship was remote, so it consisted of me working independently without much communication with others for the majority of the internship.

Pros: Maybe free gourmet coffee and smoothies.

Cons: The company was flooded with junior engineers who were just prompted to Tech Lead positions. They knew pretty much nothing about software design and constantly exercised poor technical judgment. Many times, they don't know how to solve problems and focus on unimportant and trivial stuff. I would imagine HubSpot is probably their first job out of college, and ironically, they hold some bad practices (software design anti-patterns) as golden rules for them.

Pros: - Smart and hardworking peers - Excellent developer tooling - High autonomy - Good resources to learn

Cons: Tighter vacation limits than before, though still reasonable.
