Pros

Everyone I had the pleasure to work with really embodies the company culture. There are tons of benefits, but to me, the culture truly is the best.

  • Great support for juniors
  • Tons of mobility
  • My group is particularly diverse, and there are many amazing and inspiring women in leadership positions.
  • The company embraces remote work and is making great strides on that front. (PEER week was a turning point for me)
  • Transparency is a core value of the company.
  • Coworkers frequently encourage you to take time off (no guilt in enjoying your unlimited PTO).
  • Peer award recognition every quarter.

The technical stuff:

  • Great internal tooling
  • Modern frontend stack: React, TS, styled components
  • Most docs are comprehensive.
  • Top-of-the-line Mac and supportive hardware.
  • The CRM is a beauty that we constantly experiment and iterate on. (There's a learning curve to it, but that's part of the fun).

And the more standard stuff, but also great:

  • 50% matching of 401k/RRSP up to 7% of your base salary.
  • Health, dental, travel insurance.
  • Tuition/courses reimbursement.
  • Gym membership reimbursement.
  • Free books/audiobooks program.
  • Monthly stipend for remote/flex employees.
  • Unlimited PTO + global week of rest (this is particularly amazing if you work from a country which mandates only 2 weeks of vacation - Talking to you, Canada).
  • 1-month sabbatical after 5 years.
  • Probably more stuff I can't think of now...
Cons

Can't really speak of the backend. HubSpot keeps a rather defined division between FE and BE, which is not an issue for me now, but could be for some people.

No cons I can speak of.

Advice to Management

Keep being intentional about the folks you hire and the culture you want to cultivate.

Great leadership knows that people are at the HEART of anything you do, so stay focused on your employees and customers, and we'll carry on to play the infinite game.
