Production Engineer Interview Experience - London, United Kingdom

Process

My interview experience was mostly positive. Some members of the team were really impressed with my problem-solving skills and seemed excited to work with me. I was quite surprised when the decision was a "no-go."

I was introduced through a recruiter and went through multiple rounds of interviews:

  • First round: HR interview
  • Second round: Interview with the Manager, where I was grilled on Python, UNIX, FIX, and Networking.
  • Third round: Mostly discussed UNIX.
  • Fourth round: This was one of the toughest rounds so far. I had to explain how options trading works in a live market scenario.
  • Fifth round: Interview with a senior team member, asking about incident management and different projects.
  • Sixth round: Manager discussion, compensation discussion, etc.

In the end, no offer was made. The feedback I received was that I wasn't providing enough details in my interview. This was completely opposite to the feedback I received during the interview process.
