Take-home test with two assignments to complete in a weekend. Next step: face-to-face round with completely unrelated technical questions.
As a woman in tech with about 10 years of experience, I had applied for a senior role. A bunch of guys with about 2-3 years of experience showed up as interviewers. They had little to no idea what to ask. So they asked about build systems and input systems, which is neither their nor my experience. They work in low-latency software, but no questions about performance were asked. Also, literally zero questions about data structures or algorithms. It was just a bunch of male energy.
They believe what they want to believe about women developers. So that was the outcome. I don’t think this company ever hired any women in a senior technical role. It must suck to work there as a senior woman too. I hope they promote any little women they have and place some on the tech interview panel. Get those insensitive, biased people out of there.
How do build systems and input systems work on multiple platforms?
