Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

August 1, 2020
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process includes a recruiter screen, followed by a technical round on HackerRank. The final stage is an onsite interview, which consists of:

  • Two coding rounds
  • One round to discuss previous experience with a manager
  • One system design round

Despite some technical difficulties during the interview, the interviewer made every effort to ensure a positive experience. After not receiving an offer, I requested feedback. My recruiter, Megan, promptly scheduled a call and provided detailed feedback regarding my onsite performance, specifically mentioning unfamiliarity with the syntax of my chosen language.

They clearly value candidates' time, and I would interview with them again.

Questions

The sys design one was something about how you would communicate with a payments processor.

I forgot the coding ones, but I think they were fairly easy.
