Process

The interview process consisted of the following steps:

  1. Recruiter Screening Call
  2. Coding Interview (60 minutes)
  3. Virtual Onsite (5 hours)

The onsite interview included:

  • Two coding rounds
  • One system design round
  • One behavioral round

The overall process was smooth. The interviewers arrived on time, provided plenty of feedback throughout the interviews, and offered a lot of support. I was given ample opportunities to ask questions. There was also a 15-minute chat with an engineer, during which I could ask anything I wanted about Instacart.

Questions

The coding interviews were different from typical LeetCode interviews. The questions were broken into three parts, where the first part was a simple coding task, and parts two and three built off of the previous ones.
