Graphics Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I applied online for the position and was also referred by a friend. The process took two to three weeks. Both rounds were telephonic.

In the first round, I was asked about my resume, a couple of projects that I had listed, and some basic questions like:

  • Pointers
  • Difference between pass-by-value and pass-by-reference
  • Some OS-related questions like semaphores and scheduling algorithms.

Questions

The second round was a week after the first one. It covered C/C++ basics such as the static and extern keywords, inheritance, polymorphism, and virtual functions.

Questions also included logical problems, like reversing a string (how would you do it, and what are some test cases for it?), and identifying the number of set bits in a char.

There were also questions on virtual memory, paging, and segmentation.
