Process

There were two interviews: one by phone and the other at the office. The engineers were willing to ask me about myself, my projects, and my technical knowledge. Everything you learn in school is important to them.

It was more than an hour-long interview, the best interview I have ever had.

Questions

Personal Questions:

  • How will you solve missing a milestone for a project?
  • Why are you a better candidate for this job than the others?
  • What have been your worst mistake (school or work project) and how did you compensate or solve it?
  • Which was your most difficult subject at school and why?

Technical Questions:

  • Difference between C and C++?
  • What is a dictionary in Python?
  • What is the difference between a flip-flop and a latch?
  • What is a static class in Java?
  • What is polymorphism in OOP?
  • HDL design problems.
  • Digital circuit design problems.
  • C programming problems.
  • Differences between a class and a structure?
  • Memory synchronization problems.

Logic Questions:

  • You have 3 sacks full of coins, but 1 of them contains fake ones that look exactly the same but weigh 0.1 g less than real ones. You only have 1 chance to weigh them. How do you know which sack contains the fake ones?
  • You again have 3 sacks. One is full of red balls, the other is full of black balls, and the last has both red and black balls. All of them are labeled for their contents, but are labeled WRONG. What is the least amount of movements that are necessary to label them correctly?
