Software Developer Intern • Former Employee
Pros: We are one. Intel unifies its employees into its one cause: developing the best new chips to the market. It is worth noting that even in desperate financial times, no workers were fired. Seniors and above employees (including Pat himself) agreed to reduce their salaries to support everyone. The unity feeling in this regard is remarkable in my opinion.
Professionality. Intel values careful planning and setting of goals for each and every employee, and there is no cutting corners.
Work-Life Balance. Intel cares for its employees' free time and always incorporates various ways to make the work time pleasant. One example of many is the ability to take a day off in your birthday's month.
Cons: Slower Development. Naturally, due to being a long-lived, big corporation, in contrast to newly born companies, development and methods take a considerable amount of time to be fulfilled. Given the deep and rich experience the company gained, it has developed over the years dedicated methods to successfully accomplish its objectives. However, this pace may not fit everyone, and some might desire a faster development environment.
