Finally received HR's email stating I am the best fit and the Hiring Manager is very interested in me. The Hiring Manager is going to talk to me in the following days.
However, both HR and the Hiring Manager were quiet for another month before asking for an immediate talk.
The HR phone screen was positive. The hiring manager politely reviewed my skills and asked about my experiences, stating a couple of times that I was the best fit among several candidates.
The third interview was conducted by a foreign-born technical individual with an accent. The questions were not difficult, but he focused on many trivial matters, was rude, and frequently cut off my answers. Most of the questions were about chipset specifications.
This interview was very odd. He seemed mostly interested in demonstrating his own expertise by highlighting his familiarity with chipset register offsets and bit functions. I am knowledgeable about these chipset features, but I had not memorized them prior to this interview. These register bits are not notable and do not require daily recitation; one can simply consult the specifications to find them in seconds.
He questioned me many times, asking why I couldn't memorize these register addresses, emphasizing their importance, and so on.
