Process

Three independent interviews were conducted, all over the phone.

The first was a general screening where I was quizzed about the skills on my resume.

The next two interviews were technical rounds. The category of questions mainly revolved around memory management, C++ language features, and data structures. I was also asked about software performance metrics from the hardware perspective (clock speed, memory I/O, etc.).

The interviewers always set aside at least 10 minutes for a Q&A session at the end, where they patiently answered every question about the position. It was a very graceful process on Intel's part, even when my answers were incorrect. They seemed to care mostly about the approach instead of accuracy. Each interviewer also provided some great feedback to work on in preparation for the subsequent round.
