Process

I received an email to set a time for a 2-hour interview. After that was set, I received another email listing all four interviewers, each with 30-minute slots and little to no breaks in between.

The first interviewer explained my potential assignment and responsibilities within the program. She then reviewed my resume, asking brief questions about my skills and experiences.

The second interviewer, an actual programmer on the team, was more technical. I believe there were also some behavioral questions.

The third and fourth programmers focused on my resume skills and asked numerous technical questions.

Additional questions that didn't fit in the main section:

  • SQL: What types of columns would you apply an index to?
  • What's a sealed class? One that cannot be inherited.
  • Give me three test cases to test a function with a try/catch block.
  • XML: Are the tags case-sensitive? Yes.
  • C#: Difference between a property and a field. When should we use a property over a field? To gain controlled access.
  • C#: What's a fully qualified filename? An absolute filename.
  • C#: What are the two reserved words for parameters? out and ref.
  • C#: What attribute do you use for web services?
  • C#: What are extension methods?
