Pros: Intel looks good on a resume. It's big enough so if your contract is renewed for the maximum of 18 months, you don't have to worry about getting paid, like some small start-ups. There are 20 layers of management that are all budget conscious, so if you like making out forms instead of working, you are all set!

Cons: Unfortunately, temp workers (contingent workers, green badges) get no respect, even less than in any other company I've worked in. They are not allowed to attend meetings, except when your first-level manager really likes you. They are told nothing and given no resources.

Pros: Work/Life Balance There is no micromanagement; every worker is responsible for their domain.

Cons: No roadmap for interns to a full-time job.

Pros: Work is interesting and challenging. Compensation and benefits are relatively good.

Cons: Low-level management is not adequately supervised or scrutinized when problems and conflicts occur. Senior management has high ideals but does not require the same of lower management, who work directly with the majority of the workforce. Second-level managers and above have pretty much a free hand in how they run their organizations and are not required to follow Intel policy or culture, as long as the group's goals are being met. Scrutiny only occurs if some big problem arises that could affect the group's short-term goals. A single contributor's complaint of policy violations will get no one's attention and can lead to being targeted by low-level management for termination. The HR open-door process for terminated employees is a joke and is only there to support management and ensure the terminated employee stays terminated.
