A revolving door of different managers, even for the same department. Not much opportunity for growth. Not a strong association of ownership of products produced. After years of working and moving your family across the country to work for Intel, they unceremoniously laid off lots of hard-working folks—people that were around even longer than me. So not much in the way of job security. I guess I lasted longer than the last CEO.
Not sure, maybe the incentive structure internally is wrong. I feel like most of the decisions that drove Intel to its current state were made 10-15 years ago. The world of computing is different now, and I feel Intel might have missed a crucial wave. I guess putting toothpaste back in the tube involves laying off thousands of people, but I don't think it will fix the trajectory.
