Pros

Big company. If you're on the right team, you can get the budget you need to succeed. Being on a campus is like being in a city; just about everything you need is on campus. There's almost no reason to ever leave.

Cons

Feel like a cog in the wheel. Don't seem really encouraged to stand out. The bonus is not based on individual performance, so the hardest-working guy gets the same amount as the slacker. The pay grade structure is unknown. It seems to want specific skills for you to move up, and doesn't look at what you bring to the table, what you do for your team, group, company, etc.

Advice to Management

Move up the people who deserve it, who work their tails off to improve things, who do what's needed and more to get the job done, people who see 'above and beyond' as a way of life.

Don't base it on skill set alone.

Listen to the workers; they are the ones who make the products. Make them feel rewarded.
