Pros

The compensation package is very good. Salary and bonuses are hard to beat.

The medical, dental, and vision are completely covered. The 401k gets contributed to by Intel whether you contribute or not.

Intel is also very "meritocracy" oriented – seniority in the "union" and "government worker" sense does not exist. You get ahead by achieving.

Intel will also allow you to take on as much work and achieve as much as you can take on yourself. Opportunities are great and plentiful – though, they diminish somewhat as you grow into the higher/senior grade levels. It's a great place to start your career off.

Cons

A very stressful place to work if you don't manage it. They care mostly about results, and not very much about their people. Intel creates a culture in which its employees have to put in the hours to get the job done. This is especially amplified or made worse by the fact that many projects are cross-country, where you have to attend meetings that align with the other site. Israel and Malaysia are tough ones.

They also tend to promote people who were good technically into management roles, and many times these people do not make good managers. Somehow, they continue to exist in management roles based upon their technical knowledge.

Advice to Management

Start caring more about your people. They are truly your only assets to keep your competitive advantage.
