Good work/life balance, great benefits, opportunities to explore different lanes of expertise, and get promotions. Good overall culture.
Pay could definitely be better. Many lower-level engineering managers lack knowledge of some of the work their employees do, which causes a disconnect. This doesn't apply to me, but people who tend to fall into the technician role due to lacking a BA/BS needed for an engineer position are treated as lesser than engineers, which I didn't see as much at other companies.
Be more in the know of the work your employees are putting in and how hard they are working. Then, compensate them fairly based on that.
Not so difficult, as I was previously vetted by friends and school. Credibility was established. Questions were asked about my current job and my future prospects. They asked if a pay cut would be acceptable based on my 'geographic location'.
Gang interviews. Looking for qualifications that you would already need to be in the group to possess. The group seemed to have an null charter yet expected specifics in employees. Not very well organized, with no real drive to impress.
Very professional. They asked a variety of questions to gauge how I would react in a social situation, where my technical skills lie, as well as testing my creative thinking.
