Pros

It was a good company for a long time that took good care of its employees.

Good benefits, healthcare, a two-month paid sabbatical every seven years, etc. Stock options were given as an extra incentive over a five-year period to convince employees to stay long-term, plus extras for promotions.

Cons

The new president laid off thousands of older, 15-25 year veteran employees within a few years of retirement. These employees were the backbone of Intel's success for many years. Then, the president turned around and opened 3.3K new jobs (according to Glassdoor's count) for new college graduates.

Advice to Management

Senior management are all 20+ year veterans of Intel. That same experience and loyalty still applies to experienced employees at all levels, so don't undermine that loyalty by throwing those people out on the street.
