Pros

Quite good compensation on the local market. Interesting projects. Health insurance, sport, and food compensations.

Cons

Work/life balance

Annual focal

  1. Motivates to work on "beautiful" focal reports to throw dust in the manager's eyes and less on real contribution to Intel's success.
  2. Very focused on visibility accomplishments – managers can be easily misguided by reports containing such things, although real work was done by other, less visible team members.
  3. Too much time between performance reviews. If results are roughly known in advance and they are below expectations, then there is no reason to work hard until the next review year.
  4. It is unclear how decisions are made (are there any clear numerical metrics, or is it a personal manager's decision?)
