Pros

Location was at Portland, a cheap city.

Cons

A lot of non-technical managers leading software development. Quite hierarchical. Arcane build systems, tools, and methods. Close to innovation and changes to the suites. I was fresh out of college, and so was the rest of my large group. Not diverse in terms of age. Managers advised not to rock the boat. People who call these out are punished during focals, regardless of their skills. It is a hardware company; why work in a hardware company as a software engineer? Management blocks internal transfers. Previous CEO missed the iPhones; this one missed the cars.

Advice to Management

My advice to management: they need to change.
