Pros

Good benefits and an 8-week paid sabbatical for every 7 years working.

Cons

Not a lot of exciting opportunities if you just want to be a software developer and write code.

Too many reorganizations for no real good reason – had three different managers within a short time.

Mid-year and annual performance reviews are bogus, a waste of time, and not transparent. It's not how well you perform, but who you know in the company.

Advice to Management

Stop wasting time with status reports, midyear, and annual reviews. How many hours does each engineer spend on status reports, ops reviews, midyear, and annual reviews?

Let managers do their jobs rather than just copy reports from engineers to report up.
