Might depend on manager/dept, but thankfully very little office politics. It's a no-blame environment with an excellent office atmosphere. The main focus was the work, and ample time and space were given to perform well.
Most important (for me at least): A good level of mutual trust among colleagues, knowing everyone is giving their best effort. No one was ever called a slacker. Mistakes were not prosecuted; they were accepted as a fact of life, and the only focus was on how to overcome them and reduce them moving forward. This is exactly the type of environment a workplace should have!
Day-to-day management processes are clear and hassle-free. There's a great level of support from ancillary depts (IT, budgeting, HR, etc).
If your team is good, you will be hard-pressed to find any cons of working here. I certainly can't!
I would not have left if it wasn't for personal reasons.
People do talk about too much work. Yes, it can be a bit of a problem, but considering the huge salary, the environment, and the fact that you are working for one of the pioneering companies in the world, what else can you expect?
Management is diversifying the portfolio quite a bit because it's getting harder to adhere to Moore's Law, but not all the investment choices are great. Venturing too far from the average Intel engineer's comfort zone into software technologies.
Should invest much more into new silicon tech instead.
The technical interview questions were mediocre. However, the recruiters never got back to inform me about my application status formally. I received two missed calls from them on two different days during office hours when I was working and unable
Has been asked for software language competency, just basically one round interview to get the job. Permanent jobs only available to fresh. Graduate trainee depends on the availability of headcount. Try to impress the interviewer with projects done,
They asked me to go to their office in Penang to do the interview. The interview was done in a conference room with a whiteboard. I was interviewed by 5 senior developers, although I ended up not working with them when I was hired.
