Pros

Lots of benefits, the ones you can usually find with a typical software US corporation: stock, pretty flexible with life/work balance. You can go up on the technical side, but you need to find support from trusted US engineers.

Cons

Lots of local managers trying to do anything to go up in the hierarchy, favoritism, the usual Romanian style of "steal while you can", including young ones which should be the future of Romanian management elite. Most managers have no ideas, make assumptions with no backup, spend money recklessly, and hire lazy friends of theirs.

Advice to Management

Have trusted US managers locally and invest more time in training local managers.

More meetings with managers themselves, and have local leads absorbing the need for communication between the US and Romania.
