Pros
  • Good salary and benefits, but it's not always about money.
Cons

Management should understand that daily team meetings are sort of micromanagement. Nobody likes micromanagement nowadays.

Lots of work, no time to do some quality work and to work on some career goals.

Instead of software engineering, it is more of device enablement. Follow docs and enable new devices.

For growth, technical papers & patents is a criterion, even though you are working on stable products where there is no scope of innovation.

Advice to Management
  • Reduce meetings.
  • Try to introduce designations. It's always secret if somebody gets a promotion from grade 6 to 7 or grade 7 to 8. Promotion isn't about salary only; people want appreciations also.
  • For higher grades, innovation shouldn't be the sole criterion. It demotivates people who are good at execution.
  • People who are at the architect level define things properly.
