Pros
  • World-class manufacturing leadership and technology.
  • Big company perks/benefits: profit sharing contribution, sabbatical every 7 years, free fruit and drinks.
  • Overall good work/life balance, though it can be dependent on your team/manager.
  • Relatively stable during the economic downturn.
Cons
  • Compensation not competitive with the rest of the industry.
  • Too many meetings and politics, leading to slow decision-making.
  • Focal process riddled with flaws. Raises have been stagnant for the past couple of years.
  • A lot of dead weight employees and managers at all levels; too many incompetent first-line/mid-managers.
  • Complicated branding and an awful marketing campaign.
  • Recent acquisitions/divestitures are questionable.
Advice to Management

As someone mentioned, please get rid of all the dead weight employees/managers. Develop revolutionary (not evolutionary) products.

Bring in external talent when needed and do not promote the same people year in and year out. Compensate your "rockstar" employees well, not give them a reason to leave.

Think real hard about why the stock price is stagnant; don't complain about it every quarter.
