Intel benefits are excellent, such as sabbatical, STP, RSU, and bonuses. The pay is not compatible at all. I worked there officially for over 9 years.
Focal is very tough, and so much power is given to even first-level managers. Unfortunately, lots of favoritism and "buddy-buddy" things happen at Intel, and hard work never gets repaid. The Focal/Review system must change, and much more management accountability must happen if the company is to survive.
Our new Intel-Media group was sold to Verizon, and Intel never gave a darn about veteran employees such as myself. They would not allow us to transfer, and I even lost my Sabbatical, all because I sacrificed it for the Intel Media group that I was working for two straight years. After working there for 9+ years, I never got to take my Sabbatical, even though I was eligible to take it after 7 years.
Stop playing "body body" with your favorite people.
Consider the hard-working employees and reward them properly.
Don't just accept anyone's feedback on the "focal"; most of it is pure hug-wash!
The process has been smooth and very comfortable so far. Very nice people work there. I hope to find out more information during my second interview. I will update my answers when I know more.
I had only one interviewer. She was really nice. She asked some personal questions about myself and about projects I made in the past. Then, she asked me to write some code, which wasn't that hard.
Take-home assignment of a Web API CRUD application. Explain on TypeScript code, SQL syntax questions, some architecture and design questions. Overall, a great and transparent process with a few rounds before being selected.
