The interview process spanned a month.

The recruiter called and set up a telephonic round, which was followed by a face-to-face interview. I was given a problem and asked to demonstrate fully running code on my laptop. After I had successfully executed it, I was asked questions on Java and AWS.

At the end of the interview, I was given an assignment. This was to be written using AWS technologies at my own cost, and they wanted significant improvisation. I was asked to come back the following week to demonstrate the assignment.

I went the following week. Again, I was given certain programming problems and asked to run a craft demo for which they had provided an account but no access key. At the end of the demo, though I had completed the written assignment, the hiring manager stated he expected more from the demo. Apparently, they were facing an issue with running regex searches on DynamoDB and expected me to solve it. Who would do that without the guarantee of being hired?

The hiring manager mentioned that HR would provide feedback. As expected, HR never responded.

If you seriously do not want to waste your time, please do not attend interviews at this company. They claimed they couldn't organize events and that few candidates were interested in joining their company, yet they attempt to assess candidates in a manner that drives away prospective applicants.

The assignment was expected to be top-notch, even though I had admitted during the initial face-to-face interview that I had no experience with the mentioned AWS technologies. It was not the right way to assess me.

Design a scalable key-value store using AWS technologies. Implement regex search for DynamoDB.
