The recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. After asking clear questions about my experience, they moved quickly to efficiently set up the interviews.
The first interview was generic and broad, more of a real-world request than a LeetCode problem. The next two interviews were casual, short conversations with engineers and managers from the team.
The last panel of interviews was unique:
The first hour was spent implementing a working solution for a believable, real-world request (e.g., build a dashboard to display data from an API and a form to add an entry to the data via an API). It was up to me to focus on what I wanted and stub out the rest. Another engineer sat with me on the call, handed me the prompt, and was available to clarify the spec throughout the hour. The interviewee leads the whole design and planning process.
The next interview was a demo of my implementation to the panel. The remainder of the technical interviews (two for me) involved diving into different aspects of that solution with the engineers who were present for the demo.
I got the gambit of system design questions, a complex business logic/algorithm deep dive, testing implementations, and CSS/HTML/React knowledge. The last interview was a behavioral interview with the hiring manager.
The recruiter moved quickly to let me know how each interview stage went and provided very in-depth, specific feedback. This was within hours of completing each interview. I received the good news within the day of completing the final interview, which is impressive given that the last round ended at approximately 4 pm.
