I applied online for a job in Toronto, Canada. A recruiter from California reached out. I had to follow up with him to actually get the screening interview scheduled.
During the screening, he had a tendency to make statements instead of asking questions (e.g., "We're looking for someone with X"). It was awkward, but I would interject and explain why I was a good fit for that, along with explaining my experience.
At the end of the interview, he said the next step was to meet with the hiring manager. He asked for my availability and said he would get that scheduled.
I never heard from him again. He didn't answer a follow-up email. It was very unprofessional.
