Hell for contractors

Pros: Apart from free food and cab, nothing is good here for contractors.
Cons: They don't treat contractors like employees. Contractors are being treated as slaves. The moment you join the company, you can sense that.
1. Contractors will get a very old laptop (but recently they have started giving new laptops to contractors as well), whereas FTEs will get a branded MacBook. You should see the laptop bag for contractors. It's like a school bag for kids in the 1990s.
2. A contractor will not have any permanent place to sit. You will be given a place somewhere in the corner, and in one small corner, you will have to adjust with 3-4 other contractors. You will not have a chair also; you will have to grab a chair every day from somewhere else.
3. Contractors will not get any KTs but are expected to work like FTEs. On the first day itself, they will ask you to work on issues without telling you any details about the product, code, or anything. If you ask for help, you are gone. They will complain to the manager that you are not independent and always ask for help. You will have to own the end-to-end responsibility of the issue you are working on without knowing anything about the product.
4. Contractors will not be involved in any design discussions, and you are expected to know about the functionality end-to-end. This is insane.
5. Nobody cares even if you are working hard.
6. If there is any dependency from another team, you will have to go through FTEs only. If you ping them, they don't even respond to you back.
If there are more contractors than FTEs in the team, then it would be OK. But if there are fewer contractors in the team, never ever go to that team. Your life will be ruined.
Contractors, please stay away from Intuit. At least filter the Glassdoor reviews by employer type as 'contract' and check the reviews before you join.
