Pros: - Good pay.
- Streamlined processes and paved path for service onboarding.
Cons: The leadership is not technically competent and doesn't know how to manage people, creating a bad culture which flows down.
Managers have all the ownership; they are still acting like team leads and don't pass down any ownership to Staff Engineers.
People who are old at Intuit are comfortable and don't want to fix the problems with the system. They have tribal knowledge and they don't share. The system is complicated to understand and the learning curve is steep.
