The interview process involves a telephonic screening, which is a Zoom call where a fellow staff engineer or a principal engineer asks questions on design and architecture.
I was asked questions related to scalability, idempotency, security, sharding, etc. The interviewer was quite sweet and very professional, and the questions were pertinent too. I thought the interview went relatively well.
However, the sad part is the technical recruitment team's promptness in updating the status. The interviewer might have felt that I didn't meet the expectations, which is totally valid. But as a candidate, I'd like to know the feedback, positive or negative. I sent them six emails and called them five times regarding an update, but never received one.
I should have taken the hint from the first call to the recruitment team when they showed utter disinterest in keeping the candidate updated. The recruitment team is quite dismal and needs improvement.
I never heard from them. I have stopped following up now, but I hope the recruitment team is reading this and improves.
Scalability, Sharding, security, idempotency, latency reduction, caching, etc.
