Working at Intuit gives you great work-life balance. The engineering work is mostly easy and sometimes very laughable. The company is definitely stable, and you don't have to worry too much about layoffs (most of the time).
Intuit also provides time for employees to create innovative ideas (sometimes). They also tolerate flexible working hours, and generally, people work from home one or two days a week.
Some leaders at Intuit are also very approachable, and you can always learn a thing or two from talking to them. The working environment is mostly satisfactory with adequate equipment.
The product is not imaginative, and most of the engineering teams are usually not strong.
People tend to care more about politics, especially when they work cross-functionally, instead of focusing on the results.
Projects that are failing usually take a long time before they are helped or canceled, hence causing loss of money and time.
The company is not aggressive in attacking the market and is too process-oriented, which sometimes gets in the way of getting work done.
The pay is so-so, and career advancement is slow for people who are aggressive.
Follow through on promises and take a little risk, especially when everyone else is not. Be more visionary and learn more about technology.
Intuit's hiring process is too slow and time-consuming. Please do not join Intuit.
A phone interview with the hiring manager was scheduled. I took time off from work. However, there was no call. I called the recruiter, and she said the hiring manager changed her mind in the meantime. I wonder how she treats her team members.
The experience was good. The initial screening was conducted over the phone, followed by another round of interviews at the Mountain View office. I was interviewed by three people, with each interview lasting up to 30-45 minutes. I arrived around 2
