Pros
  • Excellent people
  • Good work-life balance
  • Great mix of team diversity
Cons
  • Decisions are made willy-nilly. They made a huge commitment to moving office locations only to second-guess themselves shortly after and core out the main Edmonton office.
  • No employee trust. You can only keep laying off so many people before you're always looking over your shoulder.
  • Politics is rampant up the chain.
Advice to Management
  • Quit changing your focus on the next big thing. You never give time to realize potential in anything.

  • Quit chasing other companies. You come across as the little brother at school idolizing your big brothers Google, Apple.

  • Metric-driven and losing creativity. Your metrics are forcing you to be non-stop trend followers and not bucking the trend with new ideas.

  • Trim back on your meetings. 90% of them did not affect the day-to-day work of your people.

  • Outsourcing. If you're not willing to deal with local teams in the community with sensitive data, then you're going to eventually lose the trust of your consumers.
