The work culture in India is toxic. The directors hire and promote people who either worked with them before or who come by referrals. Unprofessionalism in appraisals is seen from India management. There are sudden layoffs, and upper management talks about ethics and just forgets about them. The work assignments are mediocre. There is less to learn. I was told by my manager that 'this is a relationship-driven company' just a few days after I joined. The quantity of work is not that much where you can prove that you are adding to the cause and performing.
