Terrible open-plan offices really hurt developer productivity. Intuit packs as many employees into the smallest space possible. The few spaces offered for focus work are always in use.
Look at the research. Open-plan offices hurt developer productivity, decrease collaboration, and reduce employee satisfaction. Provide employees with an appropriate space to get the job done.
