It can be hard to accomplish impactful things without knowing key individuals. Some important projects never get prioritized because the right person to talk to doesn't seem to exist.
Rely on a better team structure and cross-team collaboration instead of some key individuals.
First, there was a screen call as you'd expect, followed by a technical interview one-on-one with another engineer. Finally, there was a four-hour long panel-style interview with a couple of engineers, a data scientist, and the hiring manager.
The panel lacked basic diversity in communication style and perspective. All three interviewers on the craft panel approached questions in a very similar way, which limited the opportunity to demonstrate adaptability and broader skills.
Got poached online. After a successful interview, I was bullied by a recruiter. The recruiter refused to send a written offer and demanded a verbal commitment. When I stated I was not prepared to reject or accept any verbal offers, they ghosted me.
