Jane Street Interview Experiences
Software Engineer (Swe II)
Phone screen, followed by an on-site with four interviews. All interviews were technical, with one deep dive during the on-site focusing on a project of your choice. Apparently, they often let candidates go partway through the day during the on-site,
SWE Intern
Not challenging. I completed all parts of the interview but still didn't make it to the onsite. I'm guessing maybe I needed to improve my communication and was somehow pressured into using Python, which I haven't touched in a long time.
Data Engineer
Very fair. Gave a data problem ten minutes before with a couple of data sets you have to transform and analyze. Want you to talk through your process out loud. You can use SQL or Pandas – your choice for the first round.
