Pros

Good customer base, lean and mean, some good talent in PLM, visionary in Open Networking.

Cons

Top-heavy with ex-MS clan, with all talks and no actions. Too many re-orgs. Lost focus, talent attrition, layoffs every year so management can hire cronies or friends from ex-MS. Ex-MS field sales degraded the brand in the market, forced partners to buy demo gear, box-pusher sales forces, transactional relationships, changed partners every year. Poor software quality, do not know how to sell to the mobility market, messy internal sales ERP, and politics.

Advice to Management

Shed top-heavy ex-MS directors, VPs, and managers, and replace them with people who actually know fixed and mobile networks.
