This is a SWE mock interview conducted with Interview Engineers. It is a technical coding interview.
You book it two weeks in advance and are allowed to reschedule 24 hours or more ahead of time.
From the prep material you are sent, the flexibility, prompt email responses to any inquiries, the Zoom interview prep sessions, the Discord community, and the Twitter Space sessions with professionals, this is an experience beyond anything out there.
During the interview, which is online with a coding environment provided beforehand, the interviewer briefly introduces themselves, then allows a minute or so for you to introduce yourself. After that, questions start from easy and increase in complexity as you progress.
This is a great interviewing strategy, as it gives you a few wins to build up your confidence towards the complex questions. The interviewer was friendly and helped me by validating my verbalized solutions. I found that a great help, as it allowed me to focus on coding the solution rather than deciding if my solution was acceptable or not.
The feedback was super awesome and practical. I even got a chance to ask a real Software Engineer anything I wanted and received great career advice.
In conclusion, it is the perfect environment to prepare for your technical interviews, with pleasant interviewers and Karat support staff.
Depending on your speed, the questions continue if you are still within time.
