It was a campus placement at IIT Madras.
The first round was a written test with conceptual (derivation type) problems ranging from various domains of mechanical engineering.
The second round was a technical interview where they asked questions from various aspects of mechanical engineering and my master's project. The interview went on for about an hour.
The third round was the HR round where they asked situational questions. It was about 30-45 minutes long.
Last question in the tech round: If you were the design engineer of a spacecraft being designed for intergalactic travel, could you design a propulsion system that could propel the ship for about 40-50 years? The question is open-ended, and they told me they don't expect a correct answer for it.
