I've been with Lam for several years and have had the opportunity to work on interesting technical problems with talented people. What has stood out to me most, though, is how supportive the company and its leaders can be when you need it the most.
This year was one of the hardest periods of my life. My mother became seriously ill, which required frequent travel, coordination with doctors, and a lot of time focused on family. Later, after she passed away, I needed additional time away from work to be with my family.
Throughout that entire period, my manager, my manager's manager, and the broader leadership team were incredibly supportive. There was never any pressure to choose work over family. Instead, I was encouraged to take the time I needed, focus on what mattered, and return when I was ready. That level of empathy is something I will always remember and appreciate.
It's easy for companies to talk about putting people first. It's much harder to demonstrate it when employees are going through genuinely difficult situations. In my experience, Lam did exactly that.
Some processes can be slow due to the size of the organization.
Continue developing leaders who lead with empathy, trust, and compassion. The impact they have during employees' most difficult moments is immeasurable and creates loyalty that lasts for years.
The first online test involved 3 sections: aptitude, logical, and coding. 18 candidates were shortlisted for an interview of 2 rounds. One technical round consisted of C, C++ questions and project-related questions. The results came after a week.
1 hour interview with 3 technical questions. 30 minutes for each hiring manager on the same day. 1 hour interview with 3 technical questions. 30 minutes for each hiring manager on the same day.
The test was difficult for the first few questions. Aptitude was very difficult and took longer. The interview round was a bit easy compared to aptitude. He asked 2 Java programs (linked list) and explained the job description very thoroughly.
